How It Works
Virtual stock market powered by real Steam data
What Is This?
A virtual stock market where every Steam game is a tradeable stock. Prices move based on real player counts - not fake algorithms. You trade with FlopCoins (FC) - virtual currency, no real money. Predict which games will gain or lose players and profit from your calls.
Beginner Guide
Sign in & get 10,000 FC
Every new trader starts with 10,000 FlopCoins. That's your starting capital.
Pick a game you know
Browse the market and find a game you follow. Is a big update coming? New season? Free weekend? Those events drive player counts up - and stock prices with them.
Buy or Short
Think a game will grow? Buy shares. Think it will die? Short it. You profit either way if you're right.
Watch it move
Prices update every hour. Check your portfolio, watch charts, and decide when to sell. Small games can swing 50% in a day. Blue chips move slowly but safely.
Climb the leaderboard
Grow your portfolio and compete with other traders on the leaderboard. Unlock achievements along the way for bonus FC.
BEGINNER TIP: Start with games you actually play. You already know when updates drop, when events start, and when hype fades. That's your edge.
Limited Supply - Shares Are Scarce
Unlike a casino, you can't buy unlimited shares. Every game has a float - a limited number of shares that exist. The float is based on the game's average player count:
This means small games have scarce supply. When you buy shares of an indie game, you're taking a bigger chunk of the float - and your trades move the price more. On a mega cap like CS2, even a big trade barely registers.
WHY THIS MATTERS: You can see who owns what % of each game's shares. When a whale corners an indie stock, everyone can see it - and anticipate the dump. Check the Shareholders tab on any stock page.
How Prices Work
- ▶Prices update every hour based on real Steam player counts
- ▶More players than the 7-day average = price goes up
- ▶Fewer players than average = price goes down
- ▶Bigger games have higher base prices - CS2 stock costs more than an indie
- ▶No price ceiling - stocks can grow as high as the player count justifies
TIP: Prices compare to the same hour from previous days. A game that always peaks at 8PM won't spike just because it's evening - it needs to beat its own record for that hour.
Market Tiers
Games are classified by their average player count. Smaller games swing harder - higher risk, higher reward.
Trading Actions
Purchase shares. Profit when price rises. This is going "long".
Sell shares you own. Cash out profit or cut losses.
Bet against a game. Cash equal to the position notional gets locked as collateral; you pay only the open fee. P/L hits your cash on cover.
Close the short. Collateral unlocks, realized P/L = (entry - cover price) × shares is added to or deducted from cash. Loss is floored at -50,000 FC per cover.
Rules & Limits
You cannot hold both Long and Short positions on the same game. Close one before opening the other.
Going Broke?
If your total portfolio value drops below 100 FC and you have no open positions, you'll be automatically reset to 1,000 FC. Dust yourself off and try again.
